What is Anxiety – How Counseling Can Help

Anxiety is a kind of mental disorder that is experienced in terms of persistent, constant and intrusive worry. Therefore a counselor will encourage the person to share their feelings in a safe and confidential environment, listen to them attentively, understand why they feel a certain way and then help them identify negative thought patterns causing stress and anxiety and replace them with positive thoughts. It is a way to discover coping mechanism to deal with and overcome anxiety and identify and focus on plan of action to address their concerns.
